THE FLOORTECH SLAB

After the planning and design work is complete, it’s time for us to get ready to install your Floortech suspended flooring system.

During this prework stage, you won’t see much activity on your end. Our technicians get to work detailing the layout of your Floortech solution, which is based around the structural engineer design and architectural plans. We determine where it’s going to sit, how it interacts with the rest of your plan, map out the installation, and ensure we can arrange all the services that run in the Floortech design.

Once we determine the right materials and their configuration, everything’s ready for on-site delivery (when called).

Now it’s time to get started.

This second stage of the process can typically happen either the very next day, or over the coming week, once the ground brickwork is complete and all safety scaffolding is erected by the builder.

When ready to install, your builder gives us a call and we deliver your Floortech flooring to site.

We utilise a crane to manoeuvre the steel into position and other floor material into pre-install locations. Then we install the truss beams. Your Floortech team install each beam at the right location and spacing to the fully engineered design. Your services can be installed during the installation, including plumbing, wiring, and ducting.

Once your Floortech slab solution is installed and any concrete stairs have been formed, your steel reinforcement is fixed into position and the final safety scaffolding is completed.

Your final service pre-lays are completed, and an engineer conducts their pre-inspections.

Our trucks arrive onsite: it’s now time to install the concrete. Thanks to the revolutionary Floortech truss system, what you’ll notice here is that while the concrete is being laid, there’s still space under each Floortech beam to review and adjust your underfloor services as needed.

Once the concrete is installed, the Floortech system is complete. It’s now up to you or your builder to complete your construction, and take advantage of the speed and building planning flexibility that Floortech offers.

Loading of upper wall materials can commence within a week, and construction can resume immediately. That’s a saving of 3-4 weeks when compared to conventional slab!
