With Floortech, you’re not relying on solid, obtrusive concrete support beams. Instead, a system of robust steel truss beams creates a strong flooring system that gives you more flexibility in your build.
The innovative truss system creates built-in channels that deliver a stronger flooring support, and greater room to install your underfloor services. You can install ventilation ducting, wiring, and piping within the floor system structure, with more space available to get the design exactly how your client needs it.
Unlike traditional suspended flooring, all your underfloor services are hidden inside the ceiling line, delivering flat ceilings—no drop ceilings or bulkheads required.
Better still, Floortech is a faster construction option. Once the ground floor brickwork has been completed, your Floortech system can be installed in as little as four days, with any second story brickwork taking place just a few days after. You also save up to 21 days on waiting for any concrete to cure, so you can complete your build three weeks quicker.
Put simply, Floortech encapsulates everything you need to better your build—faster. Here’s how it works.
After the planning and design work is complete, it’s time for us to get ready to install your Floortech suspended flooring system.
During this prework stage, you won’t see much activity on your end. Our technicians get to work detailing the layout of your Floortech solution, which is based around the structural engineer design and architectural plans. We determine where it’s going to sit, how it interacts with the rest of your plan, map out the installation, and ensure we can arrange all the services that run in the Floortech design.
Once we determine the right materials and their configuration, everything’s ready for on-site delivery (when called).
Now it’s time to get started.
This second stage of the process can typically happen either the very next day, or over the coming week, once the ground brickwork is complete and all safety scaffolding is erected by the builder.
When ready to install, your builder gives us a call and we deliver your Floortech flooring to site.
We utilise a crane to manoeuvre the steel into position and other floor material into pre-install locations. Then we install the truss beams. Your Floortech team install each beam at the right location and spacing to the fully engineered design. Your services can be installed during the installation, including plumbing, wiring, and ducting.
Once your Floortech slab solution is installed and any concrete stairs have been formed, your steel reinforcement is fixed into position and the final safety scaffolding is completed.
Your final service pre-lays are completed, and an engineer conducts their pre-inspections.
Once the concrete is installed, the Floortech system is complete. It’s now up to you or your builder to complete your construction, and take advantage of the speed and building planning flexibility that Floortech offers.
Loading of upper wall materials can commence within a week, and construction can resume immediately. That’s a saving of 3-4 weeks when compared to conventional slab!
